Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 2 tablespoon flax seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a bow, mix dry ingredients together with a spoon. Add wet ingredients and stir until mixed, about 20 seconds. The dough should thick and stick together.
  3. Place dough between two parchment paper and flatten out by hand. Then roll until dough is approximately 1/4 inch thick. Remove top layer of parchment paper and transfer to a baking sheet. Dock the dough using a fork to prevent the crackers form puffing up while baking.
  4. For rustic crackers, bake the dough whatever way the dough rolls out. Once cooked, break apart by hand.
For evenly sized crackers, try to roll dough in a square, then score with a knife or pizza cutter to your desired size before baking.
  5. Bake for until crackers are dried and golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  6. If you have uneven heat in your oven, you might need to turn the baking sheet halfway through baking, at the 10 minute mark.
